Ghastly accident kills two, injures others in Ogun

In a single deadly incident on Wednesday in the Sagamu area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, two individuals died and numerous other passengers were injured to varied degrees.

Report learned that a Mazda Bus with the registration number LGB739XA, full with passengers and claimed to be traveling from Ibadan to Lagos, lost control of the steering before the Conoil filling station along the express and crashed into a gutter right beside the road.

Our correspondent further learned that the casualties, including the driver, were brought to the Idera Private Hospital, where the doctor on duty verified the death of two passengers.

State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the crash on Wednesday, saying the bodies of the two deceased victims had been placed at the hospital morgue in Sagamu.

 “While in motion, the driver suddenly lost control of the steering. He fell into the gutter beside the expressway. The incident also led to several other passengers sustaining serious injuries.

“Those injured were rushed to Idera Private Hospital in Sagamu. Male and female passengers were confirmed dead by the doctor on duty. Their corpse has been deposited at the Idera Morgue in Sagamu,” Odutola stated.
