Peculiar, the young woman popularly referred to as the “Pepper Soup Girl,” has finally addressed the allegations against her regarding the poisoning of her ex-boyfriend and four others through fish pepper soup in 2024.
In a statement that has generated significant discussion on social media, she asserts that she has been exonerated from all accusations, contending that the victims succumbed to generator fumes rather than tainted food.
In a widely circulated video, Peculiar claimed that her ex-boyfriend’s best friend attempted to implicate her in the fatalities. She declared, “I am innocent. I have been cleared of all charges. It was generator fumes that killed my ex-boyfriend and his friends, not pepper soup. His best friend tried to set me up.”
The unfortunate event, which led to her initial detention by the Nigerian police, caused a stir on social media, prompting many to be wary of food provided by former partners.
Nevertheless, many internet users remain skeptical of Peculiar’s account. Numerous individuals have raised questions about how all five victims could have perished from generator fumes simultaneously, with some speculating on whether their windows were closed or if other circumstances played a role. A few online commentators have even suggested that the case may have been influenced by powerful individuals.
