The Enugu State government led by Governor Peter Mbah applauded the British government for opening a visa center there to make it easier for people who live in the state and the South-East region to apply.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, issued a statement on Monday in Enugu that includes the commendation.

The statement claims that the opening of the visa center was a part of Gov. Peter Mbah’s requests during Dr. Richard Montgomery, the UK High Commissioner to Nigeria,’s June visit to Government House in Enugu.

According to the statement, the government was delighted and satisfied to learn about the visa center, and it emphasized how it would strengthen the economic ties and cultural exchanges between Enugu State and the UK.

As the visa center would help solidify the relationship, the Enugu State Government anticipates a robust, mutually beneficial relationship with the UK.

In the statement, it was stated that “the government calls on the people, especially those residing in the South-East, to take advantage of the opportunity provided to file their visa applications in the state.”

A better level of security would be provided by the government for both locals and visitors conducting business in the state, it was further stated.

It was reiteratively stated that the state was welcoming of investments and business.
