Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has conveyed his sympathies to the families of the victims involved in the terrible accident that resulted in the death of seven passengers riding in the state-owned 18-seater bus.
While traveling from its office in the Kankara Local Government Area of the state to Abuja, the unfortunate Katsina State Transport Authority (KTSTA) bus encountered an accident because the Kaduna/Abuja expressway was still undergoing renovations.
Due to the need to divert traffic for construction, contractors unintentionally contributed to the sad situation by putting heavy gear in close proximity to the area.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Ibrahim Mohammed Kaula, it stated, “Regrettably, seven lives, including two children and the bus driver, were lost at the scene of the accident. Governor Radda expresses deep sympathy and stands in solidarity with the bereaved families and the people of Katsina State during this difficult time.”
“The Katsina State Government remains committed to ensuring the safety of its citizens and will work diligently to prevent such tragic incidents in the future. The Governor urged the people of the state to come together and support one another during these trying times,” Kaula stated.
According to the statement, the governor prayed to Allah SWT with all of the state’s heart, asking for comfort for the deceased and pleading with Him to give them the greatest position in Jannatul Firdaus.
