Man of the people and Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose has been pictured having his haircut at a public barbing salon.
The governor who declared he is contesting for the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2019 elections paid a surprise visit to the popular barbing salon, opposite University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, yesterday.
He was joined by social activist and women Arise founder, Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin and his aides. See more photos below:
Same yesterday, Fayose called for President Buhari’s resignation.
The governor of Ekiti State, Dr Peter Ayodele Fayose, condemned the recent killings in Benue State, saying the citizens of this country who are to be protected are no longer secured and are daily killed cheaply.
He made this statement while fielding questions from journalists in his Osuntokun government house lodge in Ado Ekiti.
Fayose called for international communities to look into the killings in Nigeria by the Boko Haram particularly in Benue and begin to look beyond Boko Haram, saying Nigerians are becoming helpless even in their own land.
The chairman of the PDP governor’s forum echoed that the visit of president Muhammadu Buhari to Taraba state is political and an after thought. He called on president Buhari to resign if he fails to find solution to the insecurity and killings that is the order of the day in present Nigeria.
“President Buhari and the APC led federal government has failed us and the citizens are daily hungry and angry with them and so he should step aside”, he said.
Fayose advised the Federal government to engage the Boko Haram and desist from their cheap lip service and stand up to their responsibilities to secure the lives of Nigerians.
There are also reports that Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state may have dropped his 2019 presidential ambition.
Fayose, whose governorship tenure would end this year, is reported as now seeking the slot for the Vice President under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The governor had earlier declared his intention to run for president in September 2017, but a member of the PDP Board of Trustee said Fayose had noticed that his presidential ambition is not viable and decided to try the VP slot.
The BoT member said:
“Fayose has seen the handwriting on the wall that his ambition is not acceptable to stakeholders in PDP, even in his home state of Ekiti and the southwest, and may have quietly chosen to withdraw from the race.”
