R&B superstar Tems has gained fresh RIAA certificates to her plaque collection as she maintains commercial success in the United States.
Her popular track ‘Free Mind’ has gone 2X platinum after selling 2 million copies. The song peaked at No. 46 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was on the chart for 26 weeks.
Tems’ ‘Higher’ also sold a million units, earning her two platinum records from her debut EP ‘For Broken Ears’.
‘Found’ her hit duet with Brent Faiyaz and her BET Award-winning song ‘Me & U’.
Tems has had a busy start to 2025, having been nominated in three categories at the recent 67th Grammys.
The singer received her second Grammy in the Best African Music Performance category, becoming the first Nigerian artist to do so.
Tems was the first Nigerian female singer to be nominated in the Best Global Albums category, as well as the first Nigerian artist to be recognized in the R&B genre, where she was shortlisted for the Best R&B song award.
Tems embarked on a world tour, including sold-out gigs in Europe and North America, following the great success of her debut album in 2024.
2025 promises to be another momentous year for the two-time Grammy winner, who has become one of Africa’s most successful music exports.
Meanwhile, popular afrobeats singer Davido rose above his disappointment to extend his heartfelt congrats to Tems on her second Grammy Award win at the 67th Grammys.
She won the prize for her song Love Me JeJe, beating out Yemi Alade, Asake, Chris Brown, Davido, Lojay, and Burna Boy.
