Nigerian singer Raheem Okoya, also called Siraheem and the son of a billionaire, took to social media to express his anger at the Headies Award after they released their nomination list.
The nominees for the 17th edition of the Headies Award were shared on February 12, 2025, leading to a lot of chatter on social media.
Billionaire’s son Raheem Okoya reacted on social media, sharing his issues with the award organizers. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the Headies Award.
In a strong statement, Siraheem made it clear that he considers the Headies Award too low for him, as he is pursuing a Grammy instead.
The billionaire’s son went further, saying he would take over the Headies Award whenever he can, claiming it’s easy to find a venue and hand out worthless awards.
In his words:
“Grammy na my level, Headies is for upcoming artist. Las las we just have to rep Nigeria sha. Any small money I find, I go replace Headies for Nigeria. It’s not hard to book a venue and give bs awards.”
