Guinness World Records has removed itself from reports that a Nigerian man was attempting to break a record for the longest crying Marathon.
As previously reported, the young man went partially blind after his bizarre attempt to break the Guinness World Record by crying for 100 hours.
According to Gossipmill, an Instagram blog, the Nigerian man identified as Tembu Ebere confirmed that he went partially blind while attempting to set the longest crying record.
Speaking to the BBC about his health issues, the man revealed that while attempting to cry for 7 days nonstop, he went temporarily blind and couldn’t see anything for the time being.
He also revealed that headaches, puffy eyes, and body pains had occurred as a result of the 45-minute blindness.
The man stated that he needed to rethink his strategy and reduce the amount of wailing he was doing because it was causing him headaches.
Guinness World Records disassociated themselves from such a record in a new update, stating that they did not approve it because they would never be able to monitor such a record.
“Just to quell some recent rumours, we wouldn’t ever monitor a record for the longest marathon crying. Here’s what can be monitored by our team”, the body wrote.
