Nollywood actor, Wole Ojo has opined that having a steady source of income will make chasing one’s dream easier and that it puts actors in a better place.
To further buttress his point, The 38-year-old used the sex-for-role scenario as an example, stating that a source of income gives the leverage to make smarter decisions and that way, actors are less desperate.
“Get training, it’s important. Not necessarily the four walls of universities you can get training at Ebonylife, Wale Adenuga, Emem Isong also have school, Blessing Egbe too, and a host of others. Find yourself a school even if it’s online. Know that it’s not going to be easy, and most importantly have an alternative source of income.
“It’s good to chase your dream but having a steady source of income gives you leverage to make smarter decisions because when you do not have a steady income you become desperate so any pressure that comes your way you give in. When somebody says I need to have sex with you to give you a role you do it but when you have a steady source of income you will be able to make better decision. If you have a steady source of income it puts you in a better place to say no to. It’s going to do you a lot of good.”
He is not the first to speak about having an extra source of income as other actors have shared their opinion on the topic as well, stating that it helps to keep actors afloat when life happens.
