At his recent coronation ceremony, Nigerian Fuji musician sensation Wasiu Ayinde, also known as Kwam1 or K1 De Ultimate, paid tribute to the late singer Mohbad.
He was, however, widely chastised online for paying tribute to the late musician.
In a speech at his coronation ceremony in Ijebu, the Fuji star noted that Nigeria had many outstanding artists, one of whom had recently died, and he praised Mohbad’s vocal abilities.
Mohbad’s death, according to Kwam1, caught him off surprise and made him feel bad about humanity in general.
The tribute to the departed artist from Kwam1 read: “We have a whole lot of artists that can keep the country together, we have Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Tiwa Sãvage. Unfortunately, something happened to us a while ago, it caught us unaware and it set us back, and made us feel bad about ourselves and our attitudes. Mohbad rest in peace.”
