The Hisbah Board of Kano State has announced a total ban on all forms of sports betting within the state.

This announcement was made by Dr. Mujaheed Aminuddeen, the Deputy Commander-General of the board, during a press conference held in Kano, where he reiterated the board’s commitment to combating immorality.

As part of this initiative, Dr. Aminuddeen disclosed that the Hisbah has re-initiated its “Operation Flush Out Immorality,” which aims to identify and address individuals and groups that contravene the state’s moral standards.

In an effort to promote discipline and social order, the Hisbah has cautioned landlords against leasing properties to unidentified individuals. This action comes in response to growing concerns regarding the conversion of residential homes into lodgings and motels throughout Kano.

Furthermore, new regulations have been established to oversee courtship practices in the state. From now on, couples will be prohibited from sitting in tinted vehicles, particularly at night, during their courtship.

The new directive will also focus on street begging, especially among women. Dr. Aminuddeen indicated that female beggars found outside late at night will be apprehended, along with women using tricycles after 10 p.m., as part of the board’s strategy to address the increasing issue of prostitution.

The Deputy Commander-General of the Hisbah warned that individuals who violate these new regulations will face significant penalties. He also urged parents to remain vigilant, particularly regarding their daughters, to prevent any actions that could result in legal repercussions.

The Hisbah board maintains a resolute position against all forms of immorality in Kano, encouraging residents to adhere to the new regulations for the improvement of society.
