Hours Following Her Withdrawal from Miss SA, Miss Universe Nigeria Offers Invitation to Chidimma Adetshina

Chidimma Adetshina, a Miss South Africa 2024 finalist, has gotten an unexpected invitation to compete in the 2024 Miss Universe Nigeria (MUN) pageant.

This comes only hours after Adetshina withdrew from the Miss South Africa competition following criticism from South African netizens about her Nigerian heritage.

The issue surrounding Adetshina’s participation in the South African beauty pageant sparked widespread outrage, with many people expressing their displeasure that she was a finalist owing to her Nigerian ancestry.

The atmosphere became so tense that Adetshina decided to withdraw from the competition, blaming the unfavourable attention as the cause.

In a show of solidarity and support, Miss Universe Nigeria extended an invitation to Adetshina to compete in their 2024 pageant.

The organization issued a statement on Friday, August 9, encouraging Adetshina to return to Nigeria and represent her father’s homeland.

Miss Universe Nigeria’s call for Adetshina to join their pageant was met with a mix of reactions on social media.

Many Nigerians have expressed their support for her return and participation in the event, viewing it as an opportunity for Adetshina to shine on a different stage amidst the recent controversy.
