Samklef, a Nigerian musician and songwriter, has revealed how singer Banky W and a pal started his own “cancel culture” back in 2012.
After Mohbad passed away, Samklef stated why many top musicians and executives from record labels are keeping quiet about the singer’s loss.
While many of them are conscious of their own role, he asserted that they weren’t as violent as Naira Marley despite their awareness.
With a friend who worked in Soundcity, he discussed his interaction with Banky W, who he claimed was the catalyst for the cancel culture.
While making fun of Banky W’s pastoral calling, Samklef pushed his coworkers to share their genuine experiences.
“Banky W the individual who initiated my personal cancel culture in 2012. And one of his friends in Soundcity… He is now a pastor lol. Fellow artists, it’s time to share your genuine experiences! Don’t hesitate! The reason many of them remain quiet about this matter is that they are aware of their own involvement. They were not just violent like Naira Marley” he said
Taking to the comment section, many agreed with him, while others criticized him for how long it had been since the music producer had released a good record.
