Nollywood actress Omowunmi Dada has recounted her experience of contracting sepsis during a film project in Oyo State.
She claimed that the production team left her alone in a hotel, prompting her family and management to intervene and transport her to a hospital in Ibadan, where she was admitted in an unconscious state.
Despite her dire circumstances, Dada stated that the production company had the nerve to demand a complete refund.
”My dear… I got sepsis on a project in Oyo, they literally left me in the hotel.
Thank God my family and management got a car to take me to a hospital in Ibadan. I got there unconscious. It was sepsis and I was lucky to be alive. “Funny thing, production asked for full refund. Hmm”
She added: “Sameeee! I got myself to Lagos and to the hospital. Paid for my treatment myself. They were sending me messages about a refund. By the time my team sent a response with all the clauses they had breached in the contract, they went quiet. Talking about a refund when you haven’t even asked if I’ve recovered.”
Sepsis is a serious, potentially life-threatening condition that occurs when the body has an extreme response to an infection. It happens when the body’s immune system overreacts to an infection and starts to damage its own tissues and organs. This can lead to widespread inflammation, blood clotting, and organ failure.
