Popular Afrobeats performer David Adeleke, aka Davido, has revealed how he first met Morravey and Logos Olori, two of his most recent DMW artists.
The DMW boss explained that he first became interested in Morravey after he saw her cover of a Fireboy song on Instagram and was drawn to her voice because it was so lovely in a recent podcast with media personality Adesope Olajide.
He claimed to have read through about 300 of the over 400 comments before finding her Instagram page when he decided to search the comment section for her Instagram username.
Davido claims that after hearing him promise to turn her into a star, she became star-struck and had trouble speaking clearly.
After the conversation, he sent her some money to get ready.
She initially requested a video chat to confirm that he was the one messaging her.
Additionally, he had booked her and her friends’ flights to Lagos so they could record a single there.
He asserted that his admiration for her songwriting skills was a factor in his choice to include her on his music album, Timeless.
He revealed that he had come to the recording studio with Magicsticks, Asake’s audio engineer, and had met Logos Olori there.
