Isabella Idibia, the oldest daughter of famous musician 2face Idibia and renowned actress Annie Idibia, bravely shared her personal experience of facing hurtful comments about her body.
In a heartfelt TikTok video, the 15-year-old expressed her struggles with body-shaming.
She revealed how being labeled as “plus-size” and receiving hurtful comments from loved ones and strangers affected her. Isabella admitted to comparing herself to slimmer girls, which made her feel inadequate.
She also shared her battle with uncontrollable urges to eat, but food didn’t bring her comfort. Isabella recounted receiving unsolicited advice to go to the gym, which only made her feel worse.
She even went to great lengths to hide certain parts of her body to protect herself from body-shaming.
Despite her pain, Isabella offered a profound insight that one’s perception of themselves is connected to their mental state, regardless of their size.
She emphasized that self-acceptance goes beyond physical changes and highlighted the damaging impact of body-shaming on mental well-being.
Her video deeply resonated with her followers, who showed empathy and support. Many encouraged her to love herself and ignore the hurtful comments from body-shamers.
