How To Check 2021 JAMB UTME Results Via SMS

The 2021 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)  was conducted between Saturday, 19th, and Tuesday, 22 June 2021 in 720 CBT centers in the country, on Friday  JAMB released the 2021 Unified Matriculation Examination (UTME) examination results, and the procedure to check them via mobile phones.

JAMB’s spokesman Fabian Benjamin in a statement announcing the release of the 2021 UTME results on Friday, explained that the exercise was largely successful as fewer cases of malpractices were reported.

“The Board notes with satisfaction that the utilization of NIN (National Identification Number) has helped in curbing examination malpractices as the 2021 UTME has recorded the least incidence of irregularities since the inception of the CBT examinations in Nigeria,” he said while giving out instructions on how to check the UTME results.

HOW TO CHECK 2021 UTME RESULTS

Candidates who sat for the 2021 UTME examination, according to JAMB, can access their results via SMS from their various mobile devices following this procedure:

1. Candidates are expected to send ‘RESULT’ via SMS to 55019 with the phone number they used in registration for JAMB.

2. If any candidate uses a phone number different from the one he registered with, he will get a response telling him the number was not used for registration.

3. Candidates who check their UTME results with their registered number will get a message which will read as “Dear Mr/Miss X, your result is as follows…”

4. But for candidates whose results were withheld by JAMB, the examination body will send them a message telling them “Result Withheld.”

JAMB noted that it would “still review all the CCTV footages and other technical gadgets for detection of possible examination misconducts.  Extremely comparatively few results are being withheld for further investigation.
