Ben Affleck Breaks Silence On Jennifer Lopez Divorce

Ben Affleck recently reflected on his marriage to Jennifer Lopez and his ongoing relationship with his first wife, Jennifer Garner, during an interview with British GQ.

The 52-year-old actor rekindled his romance with Lopez, 55, in 2021, but their marriage ended after just two years, with Lopez filing for divorce in August last year. While Affleck has remained largely private about the breakup, he emphasized that there was “no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue” behind their split.

Explaining why he avoids discussing the details, Affleck admitted, “It’s not about placing blame—it’s just something personal. Talking about it feels embarrassing and vulnerable.”

He also touched on his involvement in The Greatest Love Story Never Told, a documentary that chronicled their relationship. Fans noticed his discomfort in the film, as he openly shared that he values privacy. Addressing this, Affleck stated, “If I was going to participate, I wanted to be honest and make it interesting. I saw it as an exploration of different perspectives on relationships.”

He acknowledged the contrast between his reserved nature and Lopez’s more public approach to fame, saying, “In relationships, people don’t always share the same outlook on things. I love and support her, and I want the world to see how amazing she is. But you have to accept what you sign up for in any relationship.”

Despite speculation, Affleck insisted that the documentary was not a reflection of deeper issues in their marriage. “It wasn’t the cause of any major rift. Watching it won’t reveal the reasons behind our struggles.”

During the interview, Affleck also spoke about his relationship with Garner, with whom he shares three children—Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12. The former couple, who split in 2015, have remained close co-parents.

“I’m really fortunate to have a great co-parent in Jennifer Garner,” Affleck shared. “She’s a wonderful mother, and we work well together to raise our kids.”
