British singer Natalie Okri has expressed worries about where human hair wigs come from. She claims that some of them are taken from spiritual sacrifices to demons, gods, and other unknown entities.

In a video on her Instagram, the former Britain’s Got Talent contestant shared her reasons for no longer wearing wigs.

She claimed that in some Asian cultures, women give their hair to temples to purify themselves, thinking it will help them get rid of bad luck, poverty, and other difficulties.

According to the singer, the hair that is donated is sold to major suppliers and made available in international markets, including platforms like AliExpress and Alibaba.

She raised a concern that Black women may unknowingly buy these wigs, which could come with negative spiritual ties.

“There are three reasons why I stopped wearing wigs and human hair: some human hairs are sacrifices to demons, deities, and other unknown gods,” she said.

“A lot of women in some countries, like Asia, go to the temple to sacrifice their hair to their god, believing that their gods will purify and cleanse them. They give their hair as a way to get rid of bad luck, poverty, and every other thing stressing them, allowing them to start life anew.”

Natalie Okri stated that workers at the temple sell the hair that is sacrificed to markets in Europe and around the world, where big beauty brands and vendors purchase it.

“Those working in the temple take their hair and sell it off to the European market or to different big vendors like Alibaba, AliExpress, and different brands. And we Black women go to those websites to buy these hairs at hundreds of pounds.

“We are wearing someone’s bad luck on our heads. You may not believe in their god, but as a Christian, that works against what I believe in, because we see them as demons and deities,” she added.

Natalie Okri became famous in 2009 after impressing viewers with her singing skills on Britain’s Got Talent.
