Davido believes he deserves 20 Grammy awards, citing his three nominations for his album ‘Timeless’ and his hit songs ‘Unavailable’ and ‘Feel’.
David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, is a Nigerian Afrobeats musician who has claimed he could have been a Grammy winner in the past.
The “Jowo” singer received three nominations the previous year. His album “Timeless” received a nomination for Best Global Music Album.
In contrast, he received nominations for his hit singles “Unavailable” and “Feel” in the categories of Best African Music Performance and Best Global Music Performance.
Ahead of the 66th Grammy Awards, Davido stated in a recent interview with France 24 that his team worked really hard on the Timeless album and that he ought to have won 20 Grammys by now.
The 66th Grammy Awards are scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 4, 2024.
Davido said; “Shutout to the Recording Academy. This is my first nomination ever. So it’s craazy to get three at once. We worked really hard on this album [‘Timeless’].
I was just really patient. So, if you ask me if I deserve Grammys in the past, I already need 20 Grammys. But, like I said, God’s timing is the best. We will see what happens.”
