American rapper Cardi B has voiced her discontent regarding the negative stereotypes that successful women encounter in society.
She emphasized that, despite women exerting significantly more effort and achieving superior results compared to their male peers, their accomplishments are frequently attributed to their physical appearance or perceived as leveraging their bodies for advancement.
In a statement shared on her X account on Saturday, Cardi B expressed her revulsion towards the “attacks” directed at U.S. Vice President and Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris, asserting that the criticism she faces is largely due to her gender.
The rapper remarked that, akin to Harris, she has often been viewed as an underdog, with her achievements consistently undermined.
She wrote, “Just like Kamala Harris, I have been the underdog and I have been underestimated!! My success always discredited.
“Let me tell you something, women have to work ten times harder and perform ten times better and still our success comes with excuses… its because she’s pretty or because she slept her way to the top. I see the disgusting attacks against Kamala and it’s not only angered me but has motivated me more now than ever to not just say something, but to do something!… I can’t stand a bully!”
Cardi B’s statement on X follows her appearance at Kamala Harris’ rally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Friday night, where she officially endorsed the Democratic Party candidate for the upcoming presidential election.
