Wizkid, officially born as Ayodeji Balogun, admits that his musical career is about to begin, despite his previous triumphs.
During an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra, the famed Nigerian singer expressed these comments.
Despite garnering praises and gaining success in terms of streaming and chart positions, Wizkid feels there is still room for him in the music business.
According to the artist, his passion for music goes beyond taking pauses; the flame burns within him all the time.
“The journey is about to begin for Wizkid. I don’t see myself as someone who has achieved something major yet. For me, music is a forever thing,” he said.
It is worth mentioning that Wizkid is one of Africa’s most financially successful musicians, with the most honors earned by any artist on the continent.
He is the most streamed artist in Sub-Saharan Africa across many platforms, as well as the second most followed Nigerian musician on social media behind Davido.
