With a new album out in October, rapper Oladipupo Oladimeji, better known by his stage name Oladips, shared additional details about his struggles. The rapper prayed against an early demise on the record.
In the song “Die Young,” taken from his upcoming album “Superhero Adugbo (The Memoir),” the rapper expressed his anxieties of passing away too soon and only becoming well-known after his passing.
A part of the lyrics go thus, “So I hope that I will get my flowers before I lose my powers and everything that makes me a human (being)
“Yes, I’m free; I just wanna live and express how I feel. I don’t wanna leave (I don’t wanna die young). Breathe, make I breathe.
“I just wanna live. I dey practice what I preach, I don’t wanna leave. Oluwa jowo make I no die before my time.”
Following the signing of a record contract with rapper Remilekun Khalid Safaru, nicknamed Reminisce’s Les Roses Rouge (LRR)/Edge Record, Oladips gained notoriety.
After leaving LRR/Edge Records, the 28-year-old rapper started his own record company called “Dipsciples Music.”
