I had a hit song but didn’t have food at home – Oladips opens up on being exploited by Reminisce

Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji aka Oladips, a Nigerian rapper, has opened up about the complexities of his experience while still signed to Reminisce’s LRR Records.

He claimed that despite having the hit song “Lalakukulala” which he released in 2017, he was so broke that he couldn’t feed his family.

Oladips, who recently made headlines for a death hoax, was interviewed on a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, which was co-hosted by OAP Nedu, Husband Material, and others.

The artist recalled how Lalakulala was getting a lot of airplay, but he didn’t have any food at home. This, among other reasons, led to his departure from the record label in 2019.

In 2019, he claimed that he left LRR Records with only N23,000 in his bank account and that Reminisce forced him to sign a fraudulent deal.

In the same year, Oladips released a diss track titled “Maybe,” in which he expressed regret for signing to Reminisce’s label. According to him, Reminisce stated that he was not making money for the label, making life difficult for him as his signee.

The controversial entertainer also claimed that the musictook advantage of him, cutting off his income and forcing him to forego other business opportunities. Watch him speak in the video below:
