Toyin Abraham, a popular actress and movie producer, has responded to Nigerians criticizing her for supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 elections.
After the election, Toyin mentioned in a post that she had met with the incoming President and discussed his plans to address the country’s challenges.
While Nigerians were dealing with the consequences of an ongoing strike, someone on the X platform expressed hope that Toyin would eventually reveal the ideas the President shared with her on solving Nigeria’s problems.
In her response, Toyin stated that she was promised good governance and happiness for all. She questioned why she should bear the brunt if things didn’t go as planned.
When asked if she believed the Tinubu administration had failed Nigerians, Toyin clarified that she focused on her career as an actress and was not involved in politics or the government.
She expressed regret for openly expressing her political choice during the elections.
Toyin also addressed the trolls who cursed her, dismissing their negativity.
