On Wednesday, June 28, a jury heard that Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy r@ped a young woman before telling her, “It’s fine, I’ve had s+x with 10,000 women.”
According to the BBC, the 28-year-old is accused of assaulting the woman, who was 24 at the time, in October 2020 at his £4 million property in Mottram St Andrew, Cheshire.
He is also accused of attempting to rape another lady, who was 29 at the time and claimed he att@cked her at his home two years previously.
The footballer on trial at Chester Crown Court, on the other hand, denies both counts.
The jury of six women and six men have been told by trial Judge Stephen Everett, the Recorder of Chester, that the France international was found not guilty of s+xual offences alleged by other women after a trial that ended in January this year.
He told jurors the jury last time could not reach verdicts on the two charges they are hearing, that of r@pe and attempted rape, hence his re-trial on those two charges.
