Iyabo Ojo, a Nigerian actress and filmmaker, believes that the country’s growing insecurity is mostly caused by severe hardship.

The mother of two claimed that the vices creating instability, illogical behavior, and bad mental health in society include biting hardship, extreme depression, and drug use.

Through the photo and video sharing app Instagram, Iyabo Ojo revealed her observations, pointing out that her direct messages, or DMs, are evidence of these facts.

She claimed that she has decided to stop checking her direct messages in order to preserve her sanity due to the amount of messages she gets from individuals pleading for help.

But Iyabo Ojo prayed that God would give the administration the discernment to act quickly and wisely before it’s too late.

The actor said,

Hardship, causing acute depression, insomnia, an increase in drug intake, which is amounting to the huge volume of insecurity, irrational behaviour, and mental health in our society.

“My DM is a testimonial to these facts. Henceforth, I have to stop reading my DM’s to protect my sanity. May God grant our government the wisdom to do right by their people before it is too late”.
