David Adedeji Adeleke, better known as Davido, a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer, said in a recent statement that he feels he deserves more than 20 Grammy Awards.
During an exclusive interview with a well-known outlet, the singer revealed that he has been nominated for three Grammy Awards this year.
The interviewer acknowledged Davido’s prominent role in Afrobeat on the African continent and inquired as to what the nomination means to him personally.
In response, the singer said, “Shout out to the academy; this is my first nomination ever, so it’s crazy to get three at one time.”
He went on to say, “We worked really hard on this album, on this record, and I was always just patient.”
He finished by expressing his opinion in his own deservingness for several Grammys, adding, “whether you ask me whether I deserve Grammys in the past, if you ask me, I need 20 Grammys. However, as I previously stated, God’s timing is ideal.
