The Nigerian military, according to Bashir, who is the son of Nasir El-Rufai, a former governor of Kaduna State, is capable of capturing Niamey, the nation’s capital, in 13 hours.

El-Rufai said he doesn’t pray for war but hopes the Nigerian military will demonstrate their might and capture Niger in less than 13 hours, citing a video shared by a Twitter user praising the army of the Niger Republic.

According to a Twitter user with the handle @chimaobi_nteoma, “Look at the soldiers Tinubu wants to go fight with Nigerian soldiers.

In response, El-Rufai said: “God forbid war, but it is only because of idiotic videos like this that I hope the Nigerian Military demonstrate their might in Niger and capture Niamey in 13 hours.“.

According to Gistlover, the military junta in the Niger Republic severed ties with Nigeria after the Economic Community of West African States, or ECOWAS, failed to bring back the country’s former president, Mohamed Bazoum.

Therefore, Bola Tinubu, president of Nigeria and chairman of the Economic Community of West African States, wrote to the Senate to ask for its support for military intervention against the military junta in the Niger Republic.
