The late Nigerian music artist, Mohbad, is remembered by his widow, Omowunmi Aloba, who has shared the story of their initial meeting.
Omowunmi, a mother of one, recounted that she first encountered Mohbad 12 years ago when they were both teenagers on the social media platform 2Go.
She explained that their relationship began as a friendship before evolving into a romantic connection.
In a recent interview with TVC, Omowunmi stated, “I met him when I was 13 on 2Go. That was 12 years ago. I used to be a rapper and he sang, too, so we started as friends. We were very young then. He was 15. He proposed relationship to me and I accepted. We later got married and had a child together.”
Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, and within a day of his untimely death, his father, Joseph Aloba, laid him to rest in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
On September 21, his remains were exhumed for an autopsy amid ongoing controversies regarding the circumstances of his death.
The autopsy results are still awaited; however, Joseph Aloba has previously indicated that the singer’s body will only be reinterred once the autopsy findings are available and a DNA test is performed on his grandson, Liam, to confirm his paternity.
