‘Why I now identify as Igbo’ – Rapper Idowest says as he blasts 'say no to protest' protesters

Adekunle Idowu, aka Idowest, an indigenous rapper, has stated that despite being Yoruba by birth, he now identifies as an Igbo.

The Yoruba-language rapper made this statement while bemoaning the country’s hardships and the opposition of certain fellow Yorubas to the planned #EndBadGovernance protest.

He further suggested that those opposed to the planned nationwide protests were sentimental.

In a series of posts on his Snapchat page, Idowest wrote: “Your papa vote for Tinubu, you join say no to protest, you con get mind bill me. Onijere aye ati orun.

“Bad governance! Imagine Yoruba screaming Yoruba all in the name of Yoruba! Eti yawerey. From now on I be Igbo.

“Una dey sell una future cos of 1 dollar. OK.

“Na Nigerians be Nigeria problems! While some people are planning a peaceful protest, some useless citizens don plan say no to protest. Tori 1500 naira ede beru olohun ebi apa!

“Say no to protest, bawo. Tori 1500 naira, yin ti baje.”
