“I received a revelation to pray for him at the beach” – Olaiya Igwe apologizes to Nigerians over his support for Tinubu as president

• Olaiya Igwe, a veteran Nigerian filmmaker and actor, revealed his nakedness at the beach to pray for Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 elections.

• In a viral Instagram video, the actor was seen naked, praying for Tinubu’s victory at the beach.

• Olaiya Igwe apologized for his actions at the beach, stating that it was due to an instruction he received.

Veteran Nigerian actor and filmmaker Ebun Oloyede, better known  as Olaiya Igwe, has explained why he went to the beach in his undies in order to pray for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, to win the general elections in 2023.

In a widely circulated video that was posted on his Instagram page, the actor was seen praying for Tinubu’s victory at the beach while nude.

Olaiya Igwe apologized to everyone who was outraged by his behavior at the beach in a more recent video that was posted to Instagram, explaining that it was because of a directive he was given.

The actor added that Tinubu saved his life after he was diagnosed with kidney stones (nephrolithiasis).

Olaiya Igwe claimed that although he was aware that his actions would draw harsh criticism, he nevertheless went ahead due to the disclosure. The actor who spoke in Yoruba said in part:

“…Because of things he has done for me, health wise and I received a revelation to pray for him at the beach, which I did. I was criticized and cursed after I did but I didn’t care. I wasn’t annoyed with him(Tinubu), neither did I react negatively to him, I knew the criticism was inevitable because I am a much loved actor.

People who didn’t expect my actions must have been shocked, wondering why I did what I did. I know the criticism would have come from Bola Tinubu’s rival parties.”
