    • Usher, a Western musician, recently embraced the Afrobeats trend by featuring Pheelz in his lead single ‘Ruin’ and Burna Boy in the album’s title track ‘Homecoming’.

Usher, a well-known international R&B singer, revealed that he was interested in joining the Afrobeats music industry and that he admired the genre and its artists.

He revealed that he collaborated on his latest album with Nigerian artists Burna Boy and Pheelz because he wants to be a part of the Afrobeats trend.

When Usher collaborated with Pheelz on “Ruin,” the lead single from his most recent album, and Burna Boy on the album’s title track, “Homecoming,” he became the latest Western artist to embrace the Afrobeats trend.

In a recent interview with Apple Music, Usher stated that Pheelz had inspired his collaboration with Burna Boy.

    He declared:

“I am all about collaboration and bringing African, you know, Nigerian culture to my own world. Their music is really popular now. I wanted to be part of it [Afrobeats], that’s why I went to Africa to make this album.

“I picked up things when I was in Ghana. I picked up things when I was in Nigeria. And working with Pheelz, he created the record [‘Homecoming’]. I just felt that Burna Boy would take it to a different level of credibility. I really do enjoy him as an artist. I just felt that this song would only be lifted better if he was part of it.”

The Nigerian artist Pheelz said in a different interview that working with Usher was a dream come true.

Speaking about his collaboration with Usher, Pheelz said it shows the strength of dreams and how far Nigerian music has come.

He was grateful and thrilled to get the chance to collaborate with one of his musical idols, calling the collaboration a “dream come true.”
