“I want to be recognized at Headies Award for what I’ve done, Remember say na passion first of all” – BBNaija’s Laycon to organizers

Nigerian singer and reality star, Laycon has called out the organisers of Headies Award after they completely ignored him.

It could be recalled that on May 24th,the list of nominees for 2022 Headies Award was released.

Unfortunately, Laycon wasn’t nominated in any category.

Reacting to this in a series of tweet, Laycon stated that he wants to be recognized for his crafts even when he doesn’t win an award.

The music star stated that though, he isn’t a fan of judging people with the adjective “Best”, he sees award as a compliment.

That is, he sees it as something that tells him that people see the work he has done and should put in more efforts.

He added that emotions set in when one work hard and don’t get recognition for their work.

Laycon noted that as someone who come from a very poor background, many people thinks he don’t deserve what he has and because of this, he had to work harder to prove them wrong.

However, he feels hurt when his effort in the music industry is not recognized.
