Ace Nigerian musician, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has revealed that late iconic singer, Bob Marley, is a great inspiration to him.
In a recent interview, the Essence crooner said while discussing his upcoming album, ‘More Love Less Ego’ that along with managing his ego, he aims to ‘live forever’ through his music like Marley.
Wizkid said his resolve to ensure he achieves the second aim was even made firmer when he attended a Bob Marley musical play, ‘Get Up, Stand Up’.
“I want to live forever. Not physically, but for whatever I create to live forever,” he explained.
According to Big Wiz watching the Marley musical play reaffirmed what he wanted for his life.
He said; “I was like, ‘Yo, we’re watching a Bob Marley play and this guy died decades ago.’
“I didn’t even know that he died at 36. He did so much at a young age. It just reaffirms what I do; I have to keep taking this to the highest heights.
“Because I know one day they’re definitely going to create a play about me.”
Wizkid earlier announced that ‘More Love Less Ego’ will be released on Friday, 11th of November 2022.
