More information on Emeka Ike’s previous marriage is provided by Susan Emma, his ex-wife, who disclosed that he turned down her request to pursue an acting career.
She revealed the extent of the abuse she suffered throughout their marriage in an interview with Chude.
She said that it began as financial abuse, then moved to verbal and emotional abuse, and then turned violent.
Susan Emma described how Emeka Ike, her ex-husband, forbade her from working.
She first became close to him because she wanted to become an actor, but he rejected her, saying it would ruin their relationship.
Susan also remembers that before he consented to be married, she was significantly pregnant with their second child and had to make a move to make their wedding happen.
He arrived late from the slum state he was filming in on the day of their wedding, and his family did not even bless the union.
