Uzor Arukwe, one of Nollywood’s finest actor, spoke out on a recent episode of media personality Chude Jidenwo’s show, WithChude.
During the interview, the movie actor revealed numerous details about his life before and after joining the film industry.
The movie actor revealed that leaving his corporate career in 2012, before entering Nollywood, was one of the lowest points in his life.
Uzor Arukwe mentioned that he was unemployed from November 2012 to December 2013, but he kept this from his mother and older brother for several years.
During the conversation, the Sugar Rush star said that he is married with children and has found a way to separate his personal life from his work. He stated that his motivation for doing so is to stay sane and protect his family from the prying eyes of the public, as many veteran performers he admires do.
Uzor Arukwe also talked about his early career in Nollywood. The actor described how he entered and left Nollywood several times. He said that his first gigs paid him N1,000, N2,000, and N10,000, respectively. He also admitted that he received “thank you for coming” as money for his film role.
One of Uzor Arukwe’s most well-known performances was in Funke Akindele’s record-breaking film A Tribe Called Judah.
