Abel Damina, the outspoken senior pastor of Abel Damina Ministries International, has reacted strongly to online misinterpretations of his controversial belief that God cannot be limited to a single religion, especially Christianity.
Remember that in his viral sermon, Pastor Damina sparked outrage online when he urged Christian believers who believed Christianity was the only religion that could take them to heaven to discard their views.
He firmly claimed that God does not align Himself solely with Christianity, emphasizing that even Jesus did not identify as a Christian during His earthly ministry.
In a stinging response to an online report on his controversial words, Pastor Damina delivered a scorching sermon in which he directly challenged the PUNCH newspaper, accusing them of gross misinterpretation.
He fervently read aloud the passage from their report that he said was false.
“PUNCH newspaper wrote a misleading publication about me and it’s online”
“They wrote; “Popular pastor, Abel Damina, has explained why God is not a Christian while charging his congregations to stop believing that only the people who believe in Jesus will go to heaven.”
Pastor Abel Damina vehemently denied ever saying such remarks, describing the misquotation as a criminal offence.
He went on to indicate a strong desire to take legal action against those involved.
Pastor Abel Damina explained that he does not contest with the notion that only Christians would make it to heaven.
Instead, he vehemently claimed that God transcends labels such as ‘Christian’. He emphasized that belief in Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, combined with acceptance of the gospel, ensures admittance into heaven for people of all faiths, whether traditionalists or practitioners of other religions.
Pastor Abel Damina fiercely supported his stance by using scripture and providing a strong biblical perspective to back up his claims.
