Naira Marley’s Marlian Record Label is embroiled in yet another controversy following serious allegations made by Fabian Blu, a former artist associated with the label.
In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, Fabian Blu asserted that he has not received any royalties for the past five years. He further claimed that when he threatened to pursue legal action, Naira Marley dismissed his concerns.
Fabian Blu recounted his experiences while under contract with the label, stating that he was labeled a “lazy artist” and felt marginalized due to his ethnicity and religious beliefs.
Additionally, he alleged that he was introduced to drugs during his tenure at Marlian Record Label, describing the atmosphere as excessively “gangster” for his comfort. He also claimed that the label propagated rumors regarding his mental health following his departure. These allegations arise in the wake of a message sent to Naira Marley by Wunmi, the widow of the late Mohbad, during her interview with Chude Jideonwo.

In other news, Wunmi, the widow of the late musician Mohbad, has provided insight into the injury he incurred prior to his untimely death, disclosing that he inadvertently struck the glass of a Prado SUV during a dispute with his friend, Prime Boy.
It is important to note that in the aftermath of Mohbad’s passing, Prime Boy was initially viewed as a primary suspect, with numerous Nigerians accusing him of employing supernatural tactics against the singer during their confrontation. However, Wunmi has now elucidated the actual events surrounding the incident.
In a recent interview on TVC’s Your View program, she detailed that the confrontation occurred at a performance, and in the heat of the moment, Mohbad accidentally hit the glass of the vehicle rather than targeting Prime Boy.
In her words:
“My husband sustained an injury at the show when he wanted to punch Prime Boy, but he mistakenly hit the Prado glass instead. He refused to go to the hospital because he had a phobia for it due to the NDLEA saga. That was why we had to call a nurse to treat him at home when his hand started swelling. His own personal nurse was not around.”
The disclosure has ignited renewed conversations regarding the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death, thereby amplifying the demand for justice in the current investigation.
