Simisola Kosoko, a prominent Nigerian singer, songwriter, and music producer, has expressed her support for the nationwide rallies against hunger and terrible government that are sweeping the country.
Thousands of Nigerians came to the streets in several states on August 1 to participate in the #EndBadGovernance protest, which is scheduled to go until August 10.
Protesters carried placards expressing their demands for government accountability and improved living conditions.
The protests have created a heated debate on social media, with some condemning celebrities for supposedly failing to use their platforms to support the cause.
In response, Simi tweeted her solidarity with the protesters.
In her words;
“I will ALWAYS stand with my people #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria.”
Simi’s display of support comes amid frequent feuds between celebrities and online fans who question their commitment to fighting for social change.
