Ed Sheeran, a Grammy-winning British artist, has made a confession.
He revealed that Barbadian diva Rihanna was the inspiration for his breakthrough song ‘Shape Of You.’
He revealed this during a recent interview with Hits Radio.
“Rihanna is genre-less, she can do anything. She’s the grail for songwriters. When I wrote Shape Of You, the person I was writing in my mind for was Rihanna,” Sheeran stated.
On January 6, 2017, Ed Sheeran released ‘Shape Of You’ as one of the lead singles from his third studio album, ‘Divide.’
At the 60th Annual Grammy Awards, the song won the Best Pop Solo Performance category.
Ed Sheeran also stated that he penned Justin Bieber’s blockbuster single, ‘Love Yourself.’ He stated that the song was first rejected by several musicians.
