Ice Prince Reveals MI Abaga Was Instrumental In Teaching Him How To Rap

  • Ice Prince credits MI Abaga as a significant influence in his music career.
  • He describes MI as a mentor who taught him essential rapping skills.
  • The acknowledgment came during an interview on the show Curiosity Made Me Ask.
  • Nigerian rap star Ice Prince has revealed that fellow rapper MI Abaga played a major role in shaping his career and teaching him how to rap.

During an interview with content creator Isbaeu on the show Curiosity Made Me Ask, Ice Prince openly acknowledged MI as not just a mentor, but a key figure in his growth as an artist.

The Oleku hitmaker spoke with deep respect for MI Abaga, the rapper behind the iconic Crowd Mentality, saying that MI’s mentorship equipped him with the lyrical skill and professional discipline that set him apart in the music scene.

“I can rap on any beat with any rapper, and I will still stand out. I’m not going to have a wack verse on a song,” Ice Prince stated.

He went on to clarify that his confidence doesn’t come from undermining other rappers but from the solid foundation he received from MI. “I am not saying other rappers cannot rap, but it cannot be said that I’m wack. I was brought up by the best, shout out to MI Abaga.

“I rapped with him for years. He is my big brother, and he taught me well,” he added.

Ice Prince’s admiration for MI is rooted not just in music but in brotherhood, as the two artists spent years collaborating and learning from each other within the same creative circles.

Their relationship reflects a strong bond often seen in Nigeria’s music industry, where established artists mentor upcoming talents. For Ice Prince, that mentorship clearly played a lasting role in shaping his identity and confidence as a rapper.
