James Earl Jones, the legendary Hollywood actor famous for his powerful voice and remarkable acting, has died at the age of 93.

He passed away peacefully at his home on September 9, 2024, with his family by his side, as reported by his agent, Barry McPherson.

Born in Mississippi in January 1931, Jones became a Hollywood icon with memorable performances in films like Coming to America, The Greatest, Field of Dreams, and Conan the Barbarian.

He is widely recognized for his iconic voice roles as Darth Vader in Star Wars and Mufasa in Disney’s The Lion King (1994).

Throughout his impressive career, Jones earned many awards, such as an honorary Oscar, a Grammy, an Emmy, and a Tony Award.

He made important contributions to television, winning two Emmys for his performances in Gabriel’s Fire and as the older Alex Haley in Roots: The Next Generation.

Jones also featured in early episodes of Sesame Street and provided his voice for The Simpsons.

Recently, he spoke out about his long struggle with type 2 diabetes for the first time in almost twenty years.

He is survived by his son, Flynn Earl Jones.
