Idris Elba will take on the famous role of Pete Edochie in a TV version of Chinua Achebe’s classic, Things Fall Apart, according to Variety.

In 1987, the book was made into a popular miniseries directed by David Orere and aired on Nigerian television by the Nigerian Television Authority. Amazon has listed Things Fall Apart as one of the 100 essential books to read in a lifetime.

The film featured well-known actors, with Edochie playing the main character Okonkwo and Justus Esiri as Obierika. Nkem Owoh and Sam Loco Efe had supporting roles.

Things Fall Apart came out in 1958 when Achebe was just 28 years old. It is considered one of the most significant works of African literature, translated into over 50 languages and selling more than 10 million copies.

In other news, Online personality VeryDarkMan has remained steadfast in his position, openly inviting Falz’s family to initiate legal proceedings against him concerning leaked audio that allegedly implicates them in bribery allegations involving Bobrisky.

In response to threats of legal action from Falz’s sister, VeryDarkMan released a video that has intensified the ongoing controversy.

The audio recording reportedly features Bobrisky claiming to have bribed officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and asserting that he served his sentence in a private residence instead of a correctional facility.

Furthermore, Bobrisky is said to have offered N10 million to both Falz and his father, prominent lawyer Femi Falana, in an attempt to avoid imprisonment.

Falz has categorically denied these claims, while his sister has pledged to take legal action against VeryDarkMan for sharing the recording.

In his video response, VeryDarkMan expressed confusion over the outrage from Falz’s family, emphasizing that their names were included in the audio.

He challenged them to pursue legal action, stating, “Was your father’s name not in the recording? Was Falz’s name not in the recording?… If it’s too bad, you can lock me up for 6 months or 1 year.”

This recent turn of events has further complicated the ongoing narrative surrounding Bobrisky’s allegations and the Falz family’s denials, sparking significant public discourse.
