IK Osakioduwa calls for creation of an award category for cosmetic surgeons at the AMVCA [Video]

IK Osakioduwa, a Nigerian host, has received multiple backlashes from online users for calling for the creation of an award category for cosmetic surgeons at the AMVCA, citing Toke Makinwa as an example.

On Saturday, the Eko Hotels in Lagos State hosted the ninth edition of the 2023 Africa Movie Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA).

The event was nothing short than a star-studded one, and the audience’s responses as victors received their awards and superstars brought their A-game on the red carpet were priceless.

IK Osakioduwa and Zozibini Tunzi, the 2019 Miss Universe, served as the hosts for the #AMVCA9 event.

He made a personal suggestion to the AMVCA producer in front of the crowd, saying he would want to add one more category.

He said as from next year, he would like to have a category for cosmetic surgeons who work so hard in making actresses look so good.

He added that most of these actresses spend so much such as $40K doing cosmetic surgery and there is a need for the surgeons to be recognized for a job well done.

Backing up his point in front of the audience who seems not to believe him, the host calls out Toke Makinwa as a way to clarify what he is saying. He said; “Toke am I lying?”

See reactions below;

youfound_mattie: Funny how everything is a joke to y’all, this is so disrespectful please.

*meetadaigwe: This isn’t funny 👎👎 why mentioning her name.

mr__temidayo: This is a public embarrassment is disguise . Why mention name ?

luchijessy: That statement was really awkward and not necessary at all.

kodicollections: He didn’t even suggest that there will category for the best host rather he is saying rubbish.

alwaysqueeny: He didn’t call anyone out who wanted to be discreet or private about their surgical procedures. Toke doesn’t deny having surgery, I don’t think it’s a secret, so what difference does it make if he mentions her name? I don’t see what the problem is.

legacywealth1: Well, Nigeria doesn’t have a cancel culture. Therefore, he will still anchor more events.😢.

hayeety: This is what happen when you talk too much.
