“I’m downcast” – Patience Ozokwor grieves the de@th singer Onyeka Onwenu

Patience Ozokwor, a Nollywood star, has expressed her sadness and sorrow at the sudden death of legendary musician Onyeka Onwenu.

She expressed her grief for Onwenu to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu state on Wednesday, July 31, after reports of her death surfaced.

According to Gistlover, the singer collapsed after singing at Stella Okolie, Chief Executive Officer of Emzor Pharmaceuticals’ 80th birthday party on Tuesday night.

According to an eyewitness, Onwenu was quickly rushed to Reddington Hospital in Lagos, where she died.

Ozokwor responded, saying she is more than a colleague and that hearing of her death was surprise given that she was not ill.

The veteran actress said; “Onyeka is not just a colleague but a friend. I am downcast now and hurting because of her death and for the fact that she was not sick.

“How can everyone be dying like that, what is causing so much death? Everyone is stressed up in this country”.
