In other news, A young Nigerian man who left his date behind at a restaurant with N69K bill reveals alarming reasons for leaving without paying.

The date, which seemed to be a routine excursion at first, quickly turned into a viral drama when the guy suddenly fled, leaving his girlfriend and her companion to pay the high tab on their own.

According to sources, the Tiktok user known as @olayinka.brain invited his date to a luxurious dinner at a high-end restaurant in Lagos.

The two, including a friend each indulged in premium dishes and expensive drinks, racking up a sizable bill. However, just before payment for the meal, the man and his friend excused themselves and fled.

Minutes and hours passed, but the guy never returned, leaving the lady puzzled and embarrassed. She had to pay the ₦69,000 bill alone, and the incident spread swiftly on social media.

Feeling pressured by the online response, the guy ultimately resorted to social media to tell his side of the story.

In a now-viral post, he apologised to abandoning his date but claimed there was a rationale for his actions.

“I saw you online and met you; I sent you N10K instead of N500 for transport fare. You didn’t tell me you would come to the date with your friend and I had drank herbs hoping for some fun. We were at the bar, you don’t know my aza balance; you and your friend ordered up to N50K while me and my friend order asun with Hollandia yoghurt and you expect me not to run?” he said partly.
