Yoruba actress and filmmaker Kemi Afolabi has shared her experiences regarding her relationships with other women in the Nollywood industry.
In a recent honest chat with actor Kunle Afod on his talk show, she talked about how her friendships have changed, especially since she started dealing with lupus a few years ago.
Afod asked her directly about how her health issues have affected her life and connections with other actresses.
Afolabi was straightforward, admitting that some friendships that once felt strong have weakened as her health has declined.
She recognized that Sikiratu Sindodo, a coworker she once viewed as a close friend, was no longer a regular part of her life, but they still communicated.
The discussion shifted when Afod pressed on, asking if Afolabi had ever been close to any Nollywood stars like Iyabo Ojo, Laide Bakare, and Omoborty. Afolabi responded firmly, stating that she was never friends with them.
Despite the tales of separation and the reality of lost connections, Kemi Afolabi’s expression softened when she thought of one actress who had stood by her—Mercy Aigbe.
Expressing deep feelings, she wholeheartedly admired Aigbe, telling how their connection not only weathered her illness but also strengthened over time.
