Beverly Osu has admitted to overlooking numerous warning signs in her relationships due to her feelings of love, particularly in light of the singer’s recent actions involving India Love.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, she stated “Yes, I have ignored red flags so many times, even in platonic relationships, but never because of pressure. It was all because of love, hope and grace. There is absolutely nothing I would have done differently because everyone I have ever loved needed my love at that time.

“The reasons are endless but it can happen to the best of us. Women are nurturers and healers by nature and with the rise of narcissistic men the likelihood of any woman meeting or dating a narcissist once or twice in her lifetime is inevitable.

“However, setting boundaries is an ongoing process that requires a certain level of self-awareness. Prioritising self and identifying your non-negotiables. This is very important in life for your well-being and mental health. But most importantly, my ladies, learn detachment. That way, we can bounce out from anything that doesn’t serve or feed our hearts, bodies and mind.”

Osu reiterated that she was not subjected to any form of pressure to enter into a relationship. She said, “I am never under pressure to love. I love to love and it can’t be forced. It is no lie that today’s dating world has changed how we all approach relationships. That’s because people are more aware of themselves, and the options are limitless. We are all evolving; so needs, mindsets, and lifestyles also change.

“Let’s not blame ourselves based on a love lost, be it a marriage or relationship. Relationships involve two people. It (crash) can’t be solely attributed to one person’s shortcomings. Be accountable but avoid self-blame.”
