I’m On Same Level As Burna Boy, Wizikid, Davido – Singer Rema

The musician made this statement in response to the outrage following his inflammatory tweet.

Nigerian artist Divine Ikubor, also known as Rema, has criticized critics who claim he is not on the same level as Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.

Rema spoke while addressing the backlash that trailed his controversial tweet; “No more Big 3 there’s now a Big 4” in his new song ‘Hehehe,’ which was released via Mavin Global Holdings on Monday morning.

Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido are largely recognized as the world’s most successful Nigerian/Afrobeats performers, collectively known as the “Big 3.”

However, Rema has insisted that he is now among the Afrobeats megastars, forming a “Big 4.”

He sings: “No more big 3, there’s now a big 4. People go para but what for? Dem go say I don’t deserve it but that is an insult.”

In other news, in Nigeria, Burna Boy has smashed yet another record for music. In its first week of release, his new song “Higher” received 2.3 million plays on Spotify Nigeria. This surpasses the previous record of 2.1 million streams held by “Benin Boys” by Rema and Shallipopi.

This is not Burna Boy’s only recent accomplishment. ‘Higher’ also set a Spotify record for the most first-day streams for a solo song by an African artist.

The song ‘Higher’ was released on June 27, 2024. Burna Boy discusses the need of valuing what is important while experiencing success in his song.

Burna Boy filmed the music video for “Higher” in Port Harcourt, his hometown, to give it a unique feel. He worked on “Project PROTECT,” his charitable endeavor, while he was there. In order to assist Nigerians without access to basic services, this organization collaborates with The R.E.A.C.H.
